Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.

Reporting a concern

It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.

The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

We opened an early Easter gift at a todder / coffee morning group. 😀
Call me silly but I was astonished at the lengths one manufacturer went to list everything they could about batteries.... 😮

  • Alkaline batteries recommended.
  • Do not use rechargable batteries.
  • Non-rechargable batteries are not to be recharged.
  • Rechargable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged.
  • Rechargable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
  • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
  • Batteries should be replaced by an adult.
  • Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
  • Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy.
  • The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
  • Batteries are to be removed from the product when not in use.
  • Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

Now, having got over the shock of so many instructions about batteries [sorry for the pun], I wondered if they've missed out any instrucitons about batteries...

What do you think ❗ ❓

OK, have I missed something? The second instruction says do NOT use rechargeable batteries. So why are the 4th & 5 th instructions related to using rechargeable batteries? ❓
