never realised how unfair things were for men until i met my partner who has to pay a large amount of child support to his ex for there son which she wont let him see.. now dont get me wrong everyone should pay for there kids but why should men pay so much when women get child support from the government and child tax credits and if they work working tax credits?? thats 170 before they earn from there jobs then the child support on top of that..there should be a set amount for everyone not the 15% which is punishing some for earning a good living then having to pay to there exs that dont need it all.. makes me mad i have a son with my ex and i only take a fair amount of him and anything else my son needs we go halves which i think is fair..
It's even more one sided when there is shared care, or, as in your partner's case, the ex won't let him have contact - while I agree that the no resident parent (usually, but not always the father) should pay, I think if the resident parent breaches the contact order blatantly, then there should be a financial penalty, which unfortunately the courts rarely apply.
You won't get any arguments here... A lot of fathers get a raw deal.
