Does full time education mean the end of secondary school? Or does one continue to pay whilst they are away from the resident parents home and at uni etc?
I need advice regarding my payments. I used to pay the required amount of child maintenance for my 2 children. eldest is 18 and was attending college. youngest was in secondary education and had last day at school on 19th May. Both live in Scotland as do I. I discovered in January that my eldest left college in October last year and challenged ex over this. She eventually consented to a payment for my youngest less than the required amount in April 2024. She now informs me that I still have to pay her up up to and including September 2024. Both are working between 25 and 30 hours a week. Both have no plans to go to college or University. Is this the case that I have to paying this lying benefit cheat as Im convinced she hasnt even reported the eldest is no longer at college, What should I do?
I am new to this forum and just looking for a bit of information / advice really.
my son turned 16 in May ‘24 and has now officially left secondary school. I have no idea if he is enrolled at college (he refuses to see me) and his mum has messaged asking for “CSA” payment.
Our arrangement is a private one and not done through CSA. If he is not enrolled at college, am I still liable for child support payment?? Also, if he is enrolled abut does not attend, am I still liable??
It would appear that there is a lot of confusion surrounding this subject matter and some clarification would be very welcome.
Thank you in advance!
Hi,
Can you find out from his mum if he has enrolled for college and if theres a confirmation letter?
If he left full time education, then maintenance stops. I don't suppose she will tell you if she still receives child benefit?
If he enrolls at college, then it needs to be more than 12 hours a week to be classed as full-time(approved education).
