There's a section at the top on when payments stop depending on the course and what is classed as advanced education (no idea what college level 3 is I'm afraid) - the simple rule is if the mother is getting child benefit, then maintenance is payable, and this stops at age 20 at the latest.

Hello Celtic01

Child maintenance payments should continue until a child is 16 or until 20 if the child is in full-time, non-advanced education. Full-time is classed as a minimum of 12 hours per week and non-advanced is anything up to and including A-level standard or equivalent.

You can find more information on the subject here https://www.gov.uk/when-child-maintenance-payments-stop.

You can find information about all the different options available to set up maintenance on the Child Maintenance Options website http://www.cmoptions.org.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have a web application, 'Sorting out Separation'. It aims to make it much easier for separating and separated parents (and childless couples) to find the support they need, when and where they need it, and encourages them to collaborate on a range of issues. The link is www.cmoptions.org/en/sortingoutseparation/index.asp.

Regards

Willliam
