I have three children 14, 17, 18 sadly I 'm not in touch with them and they don't reply to any text messages etc. I do not speak to their mother unless she messages me wanting.....
So I have no idea how my children's exam results went, I have no clue what my eldest is doing, is she going to University September '20 ?
How do I find out, if they don't talk/text me ?
I have a private arrangement to pay maintenance, my understanding is I would pay for my eldest until she reaches 20 years of age or If she "takes a year out" from 6th form.
I would not need to pay from September 20 if my daughter is in full time employment 30 hours or more, or if she goes to University,( but not to study a foundation course).
How do I find out, what she's doing ?
How do I check ?
hi,
its very tough if the kids and their mum and your not in contact with you. did you try contact your ex about it?

You’re normally expected to pay child maintenance until your child is 16, or until they’re 20 if they’re in school or college full time doing:
A-levels,
Highers or
Equivalent.
Child maintenance might stop earlier – for example, if one parent dies or the child stops being eligible for child benefit.
you could try contact the benefits office and find out if children are still getting child benefit, or when does it expire.
How much do you pay compare to the CMS calculation? If you wouldn't lose if paying via CMS, then I would be inclined to tell your ex that you are stopping paying maintenance for your eldest unless your ex can provide proof that she is in non-advanced education. Alternatively, you could wait until your middle child is due to finish A levels and open a case with CMS for your youngest and stop paying your ex by private arrangement, but do it through CMS- if your middle daughter is in full time education, then CMS would find out at that point.
