Hi,
My ex split from 3 months ago and we have a 7 year old, 4 year old and a 1 year old togeather. I currently pay £300 child maintainence informally per month however the ex has been dropping various hints that this is well below what I should be paying. My main worry is if I continue paying this £300 she can claim back the months and years I have been aparrently "under paying" her and also feel it is a massive hold on me as I would always feel the money I have left over at the end of the month I cant spend on myself as she is "doing me a favour" by not pursuing this through the CSA. My ex is a nutcase and she will literally do anything to make my life a misery so I don;t knowhow to play this.'
My job is paid a basic salary plus I get commision if I sell (normally 8 months out of 12 I am paid commision). I have used the calulators on here and it says i could pay £512 per month on my basic or £691 per month if I take into my last year wages. If the CSA were to take £691 off me per month I would really struggle (I would have £48 to spend on food and clothes and my budget is very minimal!)
My questions is - what is best a CSA agreement or a family based agreement?
