Hi there, im a newbie on here so im just hoping ive posted in the correct section.

Anyway, i am looking for advice regarding getting access to my 3 daughters. Unfortunately i cannot afford a solicitor so i am trying to gain as much knowledge as i can. I separated from my my ex almost 2 years ago now and i have had good access to them, twice weekly at very least, up until i met someone else and as i recently moved in with my girlfriend, my ex has stopped all access and i am at a loss as to my rights so any advice would be grateful.

Hi and welcome

There are plenty of Dads here that pursue contact without legal representation..it's very doable! Check out the stickys at the top of the Legal Eagle section about self representing and the C100 form which is the form you would submit to court to apply for a contact order.

The first step before court is mediation, it's always worth trying to avoid court as this can put so much strain on all concerned. Here's a link to the mediation service

www.nfm.org.uk

Funding is still available for mediation and you can check eligibility here

www.gov.uk/check-legal-aid

I'm going to move this post into the Legal Eagle section as its more appropriate for this topic.

Hi There,

As has been said you can go through court without the help of legal help, we can advise on anything your unsure of.

Many of us have been through court without the help of solicitorsand have managed to get really good contact set up.

Good luck and feel free to ask any questions.
