Hello,
I have a couple of questions regarding variations and income changes that I hope someone can help me with because I've spoken with the CMS and I feel the person I spoke with didn't fully know themselves.
- If I receive a pay rise of lets say £1000 and its below the 12.5% and 25% numbers I've seen on the CMS website, does this means that the CMS will not increase the amount I pay to the receiving parent?
- I travel over 1000 miles a month to see my son, and I have a court order to prove my access arrangements, if I apply for a special variation will I be accepted and I assume the amount I pay will go down?
Thanks
hi,
if your pay rise does not increase your gross income by 25% or more, then you don't have to tell CMS. when they do your next annual review, this pay rise would be taken into account and they will use to work out your maintenance payments. so when they do your next annual review, you can expect your maintenance payments to increase.
with your expenses for child contact, suggest you log into your online cms account and report this special expense. CMS would reduce your gross income by the expenses, so your maintenance payments will reduce slightly.
