Just after a bit of clarity regarding payments. I earn a salary and receive universal credit as my partner and I have a joint claim. Within it I and my partner recieve carers element for two seperate children and my partner receives seperately carers allowance

Would the benefits received be taken into account for payments and serve as a variable (lower payments or pay the flat rate), or would payments be calculated from my salary.

CMS say they don’t know as they’ve never seen anything like this before.

hi,

they told me that if paying parent is getting UC but also has a job, they are still assessed on their earned income. because of UC they will likely be made to pay a reduced rate of maintenance.
