Question here.I have a child custody order from the UK as well as a child maintenance order from the UK. I live in the US. My ex in the UK asked for my US tax returns to review the child maintenance payments. Do I need to send her my tax returns? and since I am not in the UK or a UK citizen - what are the rules for her to try and change the payments?
Hi
I believe this falls under a REMO agreement but not sure of the finer details. I do remember coming across a news article re a father living in South Africa where although it comes under REMO stopped paying and there was very little CMS could do as it was difficult to locate him and enforce the order etc.
If you are doing everything above board and want to provide financially for your child then yes do need to provide the relevant information for the correct CMS to be calculated or could just verbally provide it. For your ex to do otherwise could take many many months.
I'm sure there will be other posters on here who know more/better.
Thanks
