Hi, I love 200 miles away from my children due to my job nature. I drive a 400 mile round trip to pick them up and again to take them home. I do this every other month. The months I don't do this I still travel up there to have contact with them near their home for the weekend. Will the csa take this into account when working out my payments? I used to take the train and when I sent in my train tickets as proof, the csa told me that their mother told them I did not so they were not going to take it into account. What else can I do to prove I do? And how much will they take into account? I pay on average £100 per month on fuel and I'm worried I won't be able to afford this much longer. That's not including feeding and taking my children out and paying csa.
Hi there
They can make a reduction for travel expenses but I'm not sure how they do that. As you are having difficulty proving that you have your children, you could try taking photos of them when they are with you, making sure theres time and date on the photos. Pictures of them at your home and out and about.
You would be asking for a variation because of special expenses and if they refuse to believe you I would advise that you appeal their decision.
Best of luck
Thanks for the reply. I guess I will appeal it next time and not just take it as gospel
when you say next time, you can do it now - this may help
