My son finished college back in May and then went straight into a job , however he was living with is mum who was claiming maintenance from me
In the middle of may he moved out of his mum's and moved in with his girlfriend and her family as he just became a dad himself
Should i still be paying maintenance to his mum
I dare say if i contact CMS and they contact her she will say my lad is still with her , as i watched her lie in court numerous times i could have avoided paying june, july and august as maintenance is paid up to the new term i believe
would like to get my facts right before i contact CMS and some help would be greatly appreciated
This may seem petty over 3 months payments but my lad see's none on the money and his mum doesn't need it as she could afford to give up work 2 years ago
yes i sound aggrieved unfortunately but i'd love to get some money back if at all possible
Hi
You generally continue to pay CMS until August after they finish education.. You won't get any refunds and it's only another month. I wouldn't rick things especially if things going well with son..
Just my opinion though...
Even he's not living his mum and he's now working full time
seems ridiculous i lose all that money and she get's it
Hi
Unfortunately yes, as long as she is getting child benefit, which I think will stop around the same time..
Its another month really.. If you are suggesting to contact CMS and try to get what you have paid returned, even if they agreed with you, its very rare and unlikely you will get it back as ex will say its been spent.. And CMS struggle to get many dads to pay CMS let alone claw back any arrears...
