Hi all
ive got 2 kids I’m paying for via direct pay. I’ve been unemployed for a bit so just been paying the flat rate but I’m heading back into work soon and just have a few questions.
She stopped all contact when I went on to benefits, changed their phone numbers so I can’t even speak to them anymore let alone see them. When declaring shared care will the CMS take into account the fact I’ve had them at least one night a week for the last 6 years or will I now just be seen as a parent with no shared care even though it’s her who’s stopped it?
When I declare my new income will I need to provide a wage slip or will they just use the figure I give them? I read I can deduct my private pension from this figure too is that right?
My eldest is not far off finishing school and has already decided he wants to leave and go to a company for an apprenticeship for which he would be receiving a salary. Does this mean her child benefit and therefore maintenance would stop for him? How do I prove this if she’s stopped all contact? She’s always been on the fiddle and will definitely tell the CHB he’s still in education that’s all.
cheers guys
Hi,
Will your new job be permanent, PAYE? If so when you start Job and tell CMS, they will likely ask to see job contract, which states salary. Then they will work out payment plan.
If you tell them your not seeing kids at present, then they will remove shared care and you will have to pay more. You should Inform them of pension deductions. If private pension, then send them details.
If child leaves full time education and starts paid apprenticeship, then HMRC/CMS expect parents to inform them. You could ask CMS to check status of child benefit.
