[Solved] Should I be still paying cms?

Hi my ex messaged me saying she wanted to change our sons surname from her surname to her partners surname. After some arguments she was telling me she had already done it and was just letting me know. I rang cms and explained that my sons surname had changed and I wanted it changed on the system but they said no there was no need to as they go by N.I number. I'm concerned that I'm paying money to a name that doesn't exist anymore.

And the reason she managed to change his name was because I'm a parent with no parental responsibilities after not seeing my son for about 4years. Now his family name has changed to another "father" should I be still paying although this other guy is bringing my child up? I've been told mixed views about if I should or not be paying. And only way payments stop is if she stops it or her partner adopts my son?

Hi There,
.
The payments will stop when you son finishes full time education which includes college but doesn't include uni, even if your son has a different name and is being raised by someone else then you still need to pay. This may not be the answer you are looking.
