I’ve always paid for my child 350 a month out my own back since she was born. She recently took me to csa and I’m now paying 1100 a month I think This is ridiculous. Her mums gone and got new teeth a new car it’s a joke.

Long story short I work on ships offshore so I don’t pay tax in the uk well I do but I get it all back it’s called seafarer tax relief as in out the uk more then 183 days a year so I don’t qualify for paying tax in the uk. so my years tax is 0

because it is calculated on “taxable” income and because I don’t  pay tax, and I’m only ever in the uk about 60 days a year

Hello,

Simplifed - You or your employer must file a PAYE or tax return with HMRC. Then either you or your autharided person or organisation files for the relief, to recive it back. So it is still recorded by HMRC as income, for the purpose of assesing tax, then assesing the relief.

Therfore the CMS should still be able to get hold of this date 30 days prior to your annual reveiw. (Check the HMRC Portal for PAYE, self assesment info compare it to there figure).

£1,100 a month... Yikes!

Are you on basic rate plus?

Do you have arrears and are just paying the monthly amount every month?

Do you recive bonuses ect on top of your regular pay, that are being caculated incorrectly? (Under caculation regulation 2012 reg 38, 2a, 3 and 4).

Have you checked your liabiity caculation your self? (Or aginst there online caculator?)

Have they placed you on an "estimaed income caculation" (Under caculation regulation 2012, reg 42) (Reveiw document, page 1 will normally say "we call this....income.."). Because, HMRC is providing no data, or they do not belive the data is valid?

I hope you get the payments down!
