Hi all
I'm planning on selling up and retiring to Thailand in the near future as I'm getting crucified by the CMS.
How do I stand if I move all my assets abroad with me apart from a private pension that I do not plan on touching for another 12 years.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated
hi, CMS do not have any agreement with Thailand for enforcing child maintenance. so if you did retire there and move assets but you still owe child maintenance, it would be out of their jurisdiction and they can't take action.
@bill337
Thanks for the reply.
I won't have any arrears and will have stopped working just prior to leaving the country. I know the CMS don't usually handle cases when the paying parent leaves the country but receiving parent can go through the courts to get maintenance. Does anyone have experience of this? Can the courts access my bank accounts and pension when I'm abroad?
