Hi all,
My CMS payments are really hurting. I'm struggling to get my ex off of direct payment (20% charge) and I had a spell last year where I didn't do overnight stays due to an alleagtion, things have moved on an now I have my son stay over twice a week and my daughter about once a month.
I have started a monthly personal pension payment of 16% of my gross salary, CMS say it has to be 25% before they revise my payments.
Question - Will it be acceptable to the CMS is I increase my personal contribution above their 25% thresehold for one month to reset my payments? I would then move the pension back to my intended 16% of gross salary the following month (or is there a minimum period?)
Also, can anyone recommend a accounacty service or similar that specialise in this?
Thanks for reading
Thomas
hi,
if your paying into workplace pension, CMS state that you don't need to tell them about it and they notice this when they do annual reviews. so at your next annual review you should notice a reduction in your maintenance, if they have been taking the pension contributions into account. if you pay into private pension, then have to let them know.
recommend you join this FB group for paying parents, lot of experienced members there: https://www.facebook.com/groups/239699060076601
