I have just recently come out of a Messy relationship with my wife. And things are becoming from bad to worse. I am currently homeless and have went to council for some help. But i cant get anywhere as i havent lived in the area for 2 years and they advised that i go privately. This wouldnt be a problem i have no cash saved up.
The problem now is im having to pay the rent for a council proberty which im no longer staying but i have made sure that im off the books now i do work full time but im living with my parents now which its not ideal as i dont drive and relying on them to get me to work on a daily basis.
i have 3 children 2 from a previous marriage which to be fair to there mother is very understanding and maintenace for those two is considerable low. but my son from this marriage my ex is determined to take me to the cleaners.
I have been everywhere for help but i just get the same rubbish i havnt lived in the area for more than 2 years im not entitled to financial support and basically im living out of a suitcase. and before long im on the streets.
HELP PLEASE
:boohoo:
If you are no longer on the council rent book as a tenant and the property is now only in your wife's name, why are you paying the rent?
I would suggest that stop paying the rent for your old property, you stay with your parents until you can get some money saved and rent a place. You will of course have to give her some money for maintenance, but probably is not as much as the rent. If you look on line and find the CSA calculator, you should be able to work out how much maintenance you should be paying, which is dependent on your income.
Yes I agree, stop paying the rent, if your ex is on benefits or in employment she will get help with these costs.
Google the CSA calculator and it will give you a guideline amount that you should be paying, they do take into account the other children that you have and reduce the percentage of your salary you would need to pay to your wife.
If you look at the top of the Child Maintenance section you will see a sticky called "How does the CSA calculate payments" it links to a CSA leaflet with lots of information about maintenance payments.
Best of luck π
