The CSA will continue to expect payments from your brother if the ex is still in receipt of child benefit, or says she is. They will not check this out but would most likely advise your brother to contact the Child Benefit office, however they (the child benefit office) will not discuss the exs claim with your brother...a bit of a catch22 situation I'm afraid.

Usually when a child has left full time education at the end of a school/college year (usually in June) the CSA continues until September. If your nephew left before the end of the term then I'm not sure if this would still apply.

Your brother could try the CAB they may be able to advise him.
