Hi advise needed please
I have been paying child maintenance for about 12 months now and I have recently found out the receiving parent has been in jail for the last 6 months,
I have told the child maintenance service about this (2 months ago)
And money is still being taken from my wages,
Every time I phone or message csa I get told my case worker is either on holiday, on her break, or on a very important phone call,
I get told I will receive a phone call back within 24 hours (never received any calls)
Any advice is greatly appreciated
Thanks
Hi there
This doesn't seem fair, it must be so frustrating for you being ignored like that.
I would put your concerns in writing, addressing it to your case worker and sending it by recorded/signed for delivery. State that you have contacted them various times, with assurances that you would be called back, which hasn't happened, that money is still being taken from your wages, when the recipient is in prison. Ask for them to respond within fourteen days or you will start the complaints procedure and take it up with your MP.
Best of luck
