Hi

I'm afraid, doing a quick calculation, the CSA aren't far off the figure I have arrived at. As far as travel costs are concerned, you are expected to pay the first £15 per week, or £65 per month, so if you are paying £80 per month, then only £15 of that will reduce your payments per month, and the reduction will be 15% of this, so about £2.25 per month reduction.

I pay about £230 per month to CSA, my ex moved (run off) to Portsmouth when my son was 3 days old, I have to travel about 120 miles (240 miles in total every 2 weeks) (480 miles per month) been told by CSA that they give you 21p a mile?? is that correct? so I should get £100.80 off each month?

I'm not sure how the mileage works - it may be as you say, but I suspect that it's more likely to be that the £100 is taken off your income and then the calculation is done - if that's the case, then it would mean a far smaller reduction. I would clarify this with them, and it would be useful if you could let us know how you get on.
