Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.

Reporting a concern

It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.

The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

Hello I’ve been paying for my children for 11 years direct pay and now ex has gone to CmS in January again I have been paying but daughter goes to university in sept. Problem is my son who is 17 now stays with his mum all the time and she has requested more money so now from 566 to 697 a month (2 children) but how do I stop payment to daughter now as she’s going to university? Will Log on today and update she has left further education but do they calculate it again for September? Any help would be appreciated as it’s frustrating thanks.

Hi,

You need to ring CMS and report that child starting university in September. They may want you to make final payment in september. You could also report in your online account, but they may take longer to action it.
