Good afternoon all
First post here ,
I have the csa taking 25 percent of my take home pay straight out of my wages now since this week. It's for my 15 year old which I don't get to see .
I have a wife who stays at home to look after her mentally challenged son and we have a three year old son .
After rent is paid and council tax etc I now have 300 pounds to pay for Christmas and food till the end of December. I've told the csa I would be better off if I quit my job . They told me they don't look into your financial situation or overheads before taking the pound of flesh .
My daughters mother is wealthy and now we are broke . Can't put fuel in car , pay mobile bills , shoes for kids etc . I don't mind paying for my daughter . But should it not be fair .
Can I do anything about this or just quit my job
Thanks x
Hi
Are there arrears you are paying for, as for one child, the CSA should only take 15% of your takehome pay. If there are arrears. then realistically, although it's hurting at the moment, once the arrears are paid off, then you'll be paying 15% of takehome (or 12% of gross once the CMS take the case). Leaving your job may well leave you in a much worse position in the long term, and I don't know the benefits system, but I'm pretty sure that you are going to be on a minimal level if you voluntarily leave your job.
