[Solved] overpayments to ex

in brief
me and my ex split up around 3 years ago due too the fact she was having an affair ?
I have 3 children with her
she took me to the csa which I was fine with. I love my kids they said that I had to pay an amount of money and there was two ways of doing this
pay her direct or to them
it was decided that I paid her at the amount the csa said. into her account
my eldest son left college due to failing his exams and went on to get a job ( he is 20 )
he left 4/9/2013 I did not find this out until 10/1/2014
she has had an overpayments to the tune off £650.00
so to stop me getting the money back she has instructed the csa to take the money direct I've explained too them she or them did not notify me of the change and that in my opinion she has had the money and until this is paid back she will get nothing because she has already had it
they said no its nothing too do with us and you need to make payments
I find it hard too believe as I can prove by my bank account she has had the money
has any one been through this and any info

This has happened to a friend of mine but be was paying via the CSA, his overpaid by 3 months as the child has left eduction, the CSA have said they will try and get the overpayment off his ex, his said good luck with that and expects back £1 a week

Your case is different as you paid direct, the CSA case stayed dormant
Your CSA case would be closed now if your child is 20, you need to tell them this, I can't understand why they are telling you to make payments, your case should be closed

They can't backdate the money you owe either as you've been paying direct and have proof in bank statements (although you should have marked it CSA)
