Hi
I was informed today that my oldest child had moved into further education (uni) 1 year ago. This meant that my payment should have stopped as my child was out-with A levels/Highers/or equivalent. The payment continued and the parent failed to inform the CMS about this. I have another case and that parent has now heard about this and is requesting back money from the date my 1st child went to university. This is from 8% to 12%. Is there any way I can get the overpayment back from my 1st Childs parent as it is over 2K and I will now be in arrears to my second Childs parent to cover the year it should have been 12%
Any advice or experiences would be extremely helpful.
TIA
You need to get some form of media attention if you have been wrongly paying for an adult at Uni!. Thr CMS are linked to DWP and have the ability to see if child benefits still being paid or not. I think you'l lneed to go to small claims court for your money as the CMS wont take action against a mum.
Hi,
Would recommend this support group for paying parents. Lot of experienced members:

No chance you will get the money back.
Not experience personally but from people I know.
