[Solved] Over payment of child maintenance

Since being move from the CSA to the CMS last year I have been in constant contact re the 100% increase in payments and how they calculate how much a n absent parent is forced to pay without any success.
Apart from the above in September last year I notified the CMS that the child I payed CM (child maintenance) for was attending university. I was told that as my ex had not contacted the Child Benefit Department I would have to continue making CM payments. I continued to contact the CMS almost in a monthly basis asking if they had had any update to my child's educational status. Everyone the answer was No but I had to keep paying.
In February this year I had a phone call from the CMS informing me that my payment would be stopping in September, not September 2017 but 2016. Good news yes but now I would like all my over payments back. Quite a considerable sum, but the CMS are always saying they are inundated with these sort of cases and that even though my case has been escalated to urgent it may never happen.
Can I get any help or advice with this please.

I would look at making a complaint - try this link https://www.gov.uk/child-maintenance/complaints-and-appeals

I would normally suggest contacting your MP, but I don't think they are going to be doing too much work on behalf of their constituents for a good couple of months, so I'd start the complaints procedure now.
