[Solved] One-off bonus

I have been at my current employer for 16 years, and in that time I have received I think 3 performance-related discretionary bonus payments, most recently for the income year being taken in to account for my annual review calculation.
I am sure I read somewhere some time ago that bonuses only count in the maintenance calculation when they are regular payments, and that one-off bonuses like mine can be deducted from the income figure used for the calculation, however I can't find that advice anywhere now.
Anyone there with knowledge about this ?

If this figure is taxable, and is added to the HMRC end of year tax figure, then this will count as earnings and therefore you child maintenance calculation.

If your bonus takes you over 25% above the amount that you were assessed on last year, it will also trigger a retrospective award for the last(current) year. So back pay plus the new award for next year.

If it does not go above the 25% then it will only be included in the new assessment they make for your next year moving forward.

Thanks Yoda and Rabbit.
I must be mistaken then because I was sure I had read somewhere that 'one-off', i.e. rare bonus payments could be removed from the income figure used for the calculation (subject to variation claim and sufficient evidence provided), but try as I might I cannot find that info again anywhere.
No it doesn't breach the 25% threshold ...

Thanks again

hi will,

its good the bonus does not breach the 25% threshold. im actually glad the current client i am with are too stingy to pay any over time or give bonuses :p

as far as i know, if you get any bonuses or overtime pay, then all that gets included in the maintenance calculation.
