NRP and an informal agreement.

Hi guys,

I'm the non resident parent of a child in the Uk, my child has finished school and I have an informal agreement with the mother to pay a set amount each month until she's 19 while enrolled in school/further education or takes paid employment. I know she doesn't go to college, I've been told she's on work experience through the college but they have yet to provide me with any proof of this after asking several times. I really need to know what my options are ? The one place thar I've been told she was doing work experience at had no recollection of her even working there when I phoned them to verify. She keeps saying she's waiting on a different placement but again I've been provided with no proof. She keeps threatening with Remo if I don't pay. I'm not afraid of Remo because I know that can take months and I would have to receive something from them from my understanding in order for the Remo to take effect.

Any thoughts on the situation will be greatly appreciated.

You ex would have to open a case with CMS first, and if she's 18 and not in non-advanced education, I don't them CMS would open a case. I'd have a look at the CMS maintenance calculator to see what you would pay in worst case, and if that's no more than you are paying, then you could call her out on it, and say you want proof of your daughter's situation.
