[Solved] Not qualified for Child Benefit - trigger to stop?

Hi All,

I am potentially nearing the end of my CSA payment time, but I am starting to wonder how the CMS are made aware that the payments should stop, when the parent with child earns so much income that they have probably opted out of receiving the child benefit payments, then what is the trigger?

Thanks for any advice or experiences

John

When I was receiving maintenance via CSA, they wrote to me every year to ask if my daughter was still in education, and when I expected it to stop, so that might be one way of monitoring it. However, I'd ring CSA and ask them.
Alternatively, you could simply stop paying in September, and put the money into a savings account (that way, if there are arrears, you have the money to cover it) until you are notified that it is closed.
