Nominate an trustee for CMS

Hi all,

Does anyone know if you can nominate a trustee to receive CMS payments; the reason for asking, I would rather it go to clothes, shoes etc for my daughter as opposed to directly into my ex's purse for dubious purposes!

I do not think that this is possible, but, thought that would ask.

Than you all for your helpful responses.

Hi,

as far as am aware, it's not possible to nominate a 3rd party to make payments to. It would have to be between receiving parent and paying parent. also possible for guardians/grandparents to open CMS case as receiving parent, if they have taken over parenting role.

No, it has to go to your ex. Don't forget, that as well as the obvious things your child needs, such as food and clothing, there are extra expenses - water, electricity additional space (ie a larger property than if your ex was single) that are being paid for as well.
