[Solved] New here can anyone help?

Hi folks I'm new to the forum but am wondering if anyone can help. Brief circumstances are the in 2004 I became aware via a CSA letter I was the father of a 4 year old. Suffice to say I'm not on the birth certificate & theirs no PR in place. This has been impossible to obtain as I cannot trace the child's mother. I've paid nearly £300 a month every month since then on the old (original) system. The child is 18 in January 2017 and I am wondering when I am likely to stop having to pay?
I appreciate that this may seem harsh to many but this is a child I have never seen & didn't know I had fathers until her mother decided she'd like a bit of extra cash! The mother has purposely resisted all attempts for me to gain PR and I can't even find her!
I've moved on now and this money could be well spent on my new daughter.
Will payments end at 18 or when the end of the school year when she is 18?
Thanks to anyone in advance.

Hi

Maintenance stops when she finishes full time non advanced education, which could be up to age 20, but basically it's when child benefit ceases. You should be able to get a reduction based on your new daughter anyway, if you do have to continue paying.

To be fair I'm reluctant to try and get a reduction as a result of my newborn as it's been over 10 years since I was reassessed and I'm worried that if I try and claim a reduction on my maintenance then I'll invoke a reassessment meaning I go one step forward and two steps back!
Does anyone know if the CSA will be switched on enough to stop taking money immediately when the child benefits stop? I'm afraid that I don't have much faith in them!
Thanks all once again.

I think it's pot luck - at the moment they are clearing down cases and transferring them to CMS, so that could be when they look at it,

Thanks for the reply, I've got a feeling that they're leaving me on the previous arrangements as I seem to be paying a fair whack anyhow.
It wouldn't surprise me if it were pot luck all my dealing with this organisation so far suggest they're making up as they go along. I've never had the same answer to the same question twice. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
