i need an advice. i received a letter today from Child Maintenance Service that i have been named in application to the CMS by Miss xxxxxxxxxx. She has told , that i am the parent of the following child: xxxxxxxx.
and i need to pay money and have a responsibility to help with the child cost.
I saw her one time about one an half year ago when i was very drunk. as far as i remember we had an oral [censored] and no sexual contact, but ones again i was very drunk and i dont remember.
i need an advice what i can do in that situation please
regards
Hi there and welcome to the forum
You need to contact them asap and tell them that you are disputing parentage and want to take a DNA test. You will have to pay for this test but if its proved you are not the father then they should reimburse you. They will also expect you to start paying even though you are questioning your parentage, but again if it is shown you are not the father then you should get the money back.
This must be a great shock to you, it will take time for it to sink in. Have you thought about what you want to do if the child is yours?
