Looking for any advice on my cms payments.
my daughter turned 18 earlier this year and is going to university in September.a few months ago I rang cms and they said when child benefit ends at end of august so would my payments.They sent me an email comfirming that.so last month I thought I would ring them and check this was the case still but now they are saying I have to pay in September and October,I asked how come if it ends on 31st of august.they told me that was wrong and should not of been told that,even though I have the email to prove they said it.they told me there year goes to october,which doesnt sound right to me.I’m a bit concerned they will try and move the goalpost again and make me pay another year.I haven’t missed a payment in 17 years so I was looking forward to actually having some money for myself so maybe I could do something with kids now they grown up.
Any advice on this would be appreciated.was today my last payment or do i have to pay next month after the date they told me it was ending?
As far as I am aware, the August payment should be the last one, so I'd go back and query that again with them.
