Hi, I have 2 sons - 19 & 17. Today I asked my ex if our eldest has finished college (he took a yr out over covid & he doesn’t talk to me), she confirmed that he has but she wants the payments to be reviewed…..we have a 17 yr old too & I will continue to pay for him until he leaves college….he does talk to me!
I just wondered, before I respond to her, whether the CMS would review payments at this point?
I have never missed a payment. Amount was decided by the CMS and then I have paid her directly every month. She has never asked for a review (although apparently has thought about it) until today…..any advice!
Thanks
Hi,
With CMS this largely rests with status of child benefit. Benefit office write to her and ask what children plan to do around time their full time education is finished. If child benefit case gets closed down, then CMS payments stop. CMS review your income once a year, or can do other times during the year.
