Morning everyone
I am a new member to the site and am wanting some advice please.
I was the NRP in a Child Maintenence case.
I emigrated overseas in November 2017 and was told by the CMS that the case would be closed.
My ex partner is advising me that the CMS are writing to her to advise that the amounts are accruing and that the case can only be closed once I give them my new overseas address.
This was not a condition when I spoke to them at length on numerous occasions leading up to my departure.
I have no affiliation with England including bank accounts etc.
I have no intention in giving them (or my ex) any information about my whereabouts and equally any intention in ever returning to England to live.
I cannot find any contact email address for CMS and will not call/send them a letter as this could give my location away which I do not want.
Has anyone else had similar issues and does anyone have a contact email address for the CMS please?
Regards
I don't think they have a contact email, but they do have a textphone service.
The CMS don't have an email address (their email would be unmanageable). I wouldn't have thought the CMS would close the case unless your ex partner asked them to close the case. Even if you emigrate, I believe you are still liable for maintenance and the arrears will be accruing should you ever return to this country.
WHEN thinking of moving abroad recently the CMS said that if my address was changed to a foreign one, then my case would be closed. I urge you to contact them and give them your address otherwise you could be met with a massive bill on your return!
