Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.

Reporting a concern

It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.

The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

Hi, I cannot seem to find an answer to this question so hopefully someone can shed some light?

I know we pay maintenance until our child(ren) leave full time education, but what I wonder is, does the amount we pay ever reduce as our children get older ie turn 16 or 18?

I have always wondered this but never been able to find an answer.

thanks in advance!

John

hi,

with CMS, you pay depending on your income and how many kids you have.

  • One childThe paying parent pays 12% of their gross weekly income
  • Two childrenThe paying parent pays 16% of their gross weekly income
  • Three or more childrenThe paying parent pays 19% of their gross weekly income

so if you have 2 kids, and 1 leaves full-time education and drops out of CMS case, your payments reduce.
