struggling for a correct answer as the government website steers in different directions whether you submit the facts as the receiver or payer:
My partner has now divorced me and my 5 year old son is staying with her.
I have 2 other children from a previous relationship for whom I have been paying maintenance for under a private arrangement (not via CSA or CMS) for several years. They do not live with me.
I now live alone so have no dependants living with me.
According to the online calculator, it you go through the figures as the receiver, it does not take into account the maintenance I pay for my previous 2 children. (There is a question that merely asks how many other children live with me not are there any other children I pay maintenance for).
However, if you go through it as the payer, it wants to divide the payments between each of my 3 children so the new payment for her own child therefore reduces significantly.
Can anyone clarify this situation??

hi,

if your still doing private arrangement, then i think you should choose yes, about other children living with you, and accept the amount it calculates for you.
