Can anybody tell me if the college my son supposed to go too will clarify if he still attending.. As my friends son says he's not been there all year.. He's 18 in October and the csa told me his mother says he's still in full time education.. Any advice on finding out would be much appreciated
I think they should be able to, if you have parental responsibility? Might be worth calling and asking them, unless is going to a different college? Do you not have any contact with your son at all? I am not sure if the csa have to request evidence he is still in full time education or not?
I would say check with college.
However if CMS told me to pay without any evidence on file then I would appeal the decision. This may force them to obtain evidence or your ex to provide it. As without it I cannot see how they could challenge any appeal.
Personally if the college say they can't tell me and I've been informed by a third party he isn't at college I'd go as far as saying to CMS that I've spoken to college and they've confirmed he is not there.. Then it is impossible for ex to respond without evidence as you are saying you have confirmed with college.
Just my thoughts..
