Hi, my daughter is 19 this year, she is not in any form of education, and has a part time job, I have a private arrangement with my ex partner, should I still pay maintenance.
Hi there
If she is not attending full time education then you're not required to pay maintenance.
Had your payments been via a statutory arrangement (CSA) and the mother continued to claim Child Benefit it would have been difficult for you to stop, but as you have a private arrangement it's straightforward.
Thanks, but if I did stop it that would mean she then could apply to the CSA, for maintenance, ii am on the old system for maintenance ( the complicated system)
if you are under a private arrangement. then are the CSA involved?
There are three schemes on the go, which one are you on?
CSA1 - pre 2003
CSA2 - from 2003 -2012
CSA3 - 2012 to present
There's a sticky at the top of the Child Maintenance section called "how does the CSA calculate payments". You'll find guidelines to all three schemes and further details about how they are applied.
