Hi,
I would like some advise please. I am going to move into my girlfriends house in a months time and was wondering if the CSA will take her earnings into consideration? If so is there a calculation to work this out or do they decide?
Thanks very much.
Mark
Hi There,
CSA will only take your earnings into account when they calculate what you pay.

Just to check, what year was your case opened with the CSA?
I know that, from my point of view, the CMS only take my salary into account when calculating costs.
My partner's salary is not taken into account.
If it was, then i would hope that my ex's partner's salary was also taken into account also.
As it stands however, i think it's just you as you are the "paying parent".

Hello Ense1970
If you have a case with the Child Support Agency (CSA) you would need to see what year the application was made. If it was made before 2003 then your new partner’s income may be taken into consideration, however you would need to contact them directly to discuss this. If it was after 2003 then it would not be taken into account. For further information you may wish to speak to the CSA directly. You will find their details on any letters they have sent you or on Gov.uk at https://www.gov.uk/child-maintenance.
If you have a case with the Child Maintenance Service they would not take your new partner’s income into consideration. For further information you may wish to speak to the Child Maintenance Service directly. You can find their contact details on the above link.
For more information on the different ways to set up child maintenance, you can visit the Child Maintenance Options website at http://www.cmoptions.org.
The DWP also have a sorting out separation web-app that you may find useful. It offers help and support to separating and separated families. The link is: www.dad.info/divorce-and-separation/sorting-out-separation.
