I was currently paying £800 pcm maintenance ( figure worked out by the CSA ) I left my job in May and stopped paying maintenance as I am not working . I didn't notify the CSA when I left work .
I have now had a letter saying that I owe £2100 . I called the CSA today to say that I am not not working and left my job in May. CSA said that it doesn't matter as I didn't notify them and that I have to pay . Where do I stand with this please ?

Hi There,
.
I think I am right in saying that you will have to pay, as you have a responsibility to inform them of any changes.
.
I don't think there would be much that you can do, but I would speak with CAB and ask them if they feel there is a way around this.

I agree I'm afraid - the CMS/CSA only reduce the payments from the date they are informed of the change, and won't backdate this.
