ok where to start ! me and my ex partner would like to know if we can stop using the csa for maintenence payments as im still on the original 1993 system ? ive paid for 19 years for my girl from a previous relationship who refused to take money off me so she could screw me over with the wonderfully incompetent csa . my assesments have been few and far between during this horrible time approx 4 years an assessment which has left me with £9670 arrears due to there incompetence of assesssments as they keep back dating the new assessment by 4 years . this case has now finished and im only paying for my son now who is 16 so can i pay my sons mum directly( which she wants aswell) and pay off the arrears to these idiots seperately as all what will happen is ill pay the £110 a week they want, then be reassessed and more arrears put on. my wages are £26000 does this figure sound correct to anybody out of curiousity ? ive also asked for my file in 2009 and never received it because its sensitive because i made a complaint [censored] ! im slowly losing my sanity over this everytime theres a light at the end of the tunnel they put it out ! so any help would be gratefully received thanks.

I'm not sure if you can close the case when there are arrears - it's worth getting your ex to have a word with the CSA and tell them you'd like to have a family based arrangement and see what they say. I'd also ask your MP to write to the CSA to get your file as that will get much quicker results.
