[Solved] I've started a new job, need help please?

Hi.

I've recently had a promotion at work, however because in my previous job I worked only nights, and now I work days my income has significantly dropped.

I was only meant to do nights for 3 months, but ended up doing them for 3 years lol!! Of course my CSA payments shot up when I started nights. Which my lads mum was very happy about!!

Now I've gone back into days will the CSA reduce the figure I have to pay? Can I ask them now, or do I have to wait till next review in January?

I just know my lads mum will go crazy and accuse me of not caring about my lad when the payments go down, (although she was delighted when I went on nights and it shot up!)

And my other question is, I work in the community now and claim my petrol back, at 56p a mile, 45p is tax free and 11p is taxable. Will the CSA take those expenses into account when working out how much I have to pay? As they are on my wage slip?

My understanding is that you can ask for a review now if your income dropped by 25% or more, but I'm not sure if that applies to CSA or only to CMS.

In doubt, you're probably better off calling them and asking for clarification, no harm done.

Hoi There,
.
If you are still on the older CSA system and haven't moved onto CMS yet then I would wait until you have 3 wage slips at the lower amount and then contact them and ask them to review your payments, If you do it before they will still take 3 pay slips and that may fall into your older wage depending on when it changed.
.
With regards to the fuel allowence, I'm unsure, it will be paid through your wage so you may as well ask them as they will see it anyway.
