Hey all.
I have received the dreaded csa letter and not happy with the out come of £364 a month
I'm a divorced dad of 2 with 50/50 custody of both of my children, ages 10 boy and 16 girl
Since the girl was 13 she has stopped coming to stay all together now but the troll hadn't until now dropped the csa onto me.
She going into collage now when she finishes her exams this year.
I was giving her mother £100 a month for her and paying her mobile contract plus added extras when needed like clothes and money to go out.
I personally have a fair bit of debt hanging over me which I'm in the process of finally sorted and work full time.
I get around £2000 a month and my bill and debt before the added csa was £1500 now added with the csa its upto £1864 leaving me with a grand total of £140 a month to survive. Thats for food and petrol.
How can they personally cripple u like this and leave the other child that does live with me 50% out of pocket. while also not considering your other debt.
I live my job on the council but think it's time to leave as it seems to be better off.
Hope someone can help.
Hi,
Sorry to hear about your struggles. Have CMS reduced your maintenance due to 1 child living with you half the time? If you have equal day to day care of child, you should not be paying maintenance, but only for child that does not live with you half the time.
Also do you know if their assessment is correct? Is your present day income 25% less than the salary figure they used on that letter? If so then they should recalculate and lower payments.
I recommend this group for paying parents. Very helpful:
@bill337 hi mate. ⁸
No this £346 is just for one child as the lad lives with me 50% of the Time
Unfortunately I think they are correct with the assessment.
I have been onto citizens advice and they advice to do a debt management course amd they will submit a report sp I can send them showing actually how much I ow.
The other thing is quit my job and go self employed which then the greedy sod won't get a thing
Very frustrating and hope I can get around this
