My son left school in 2015 age 16 with no qualifications. His mother decided to enrol him at college, he never went, but because he was enrolled I had to pay CSA payments, She then informed me that he had walked out of college but had a job at macdonalds and was going to get an apprenticeship with Macdonalds. The next I heard was that he was not granted the apprenticeship, So he is not at college and working ????? hours. I don’t see my son because I told him the truth about himself (lazy needs to sort himself out, this was when he was at school and refused to go). Not seen him since 2014

I then get a l letter in 2017 to say that my Child Maintenance had increased because I had promotion at work and a pay increase so she is entitled to this. I also had a bonus and so this would also be included. I contacted the CMS to be told that she is no longer claiming Child benefit so I did not have to pay any further CMS charges and as she had not claimed since August 2016 she would have to pay the payments £2600.00 back to me.

The CMS then sent her a letter asking her if there were any changes, She did not respond to them, but on the last day of the enquiry she decided to reinstate her claim to Child Benefit which meant that my CMS charges would still remain,

It gets worse she is now saying that she is trying to get my son into college for a course this September 2017 so I am liable for the CMS payments the increase and I have now found out that I have to pay until he is 20.

There is no way my son will attend college but because she is enrolling him onto a course I sill have to pay.

HOW CAN THIS BE RIGHT I HAVE TO PAY £500.00 SO THAT MY SON CAN LAY IN BED EVERY DAY AND HIS FAT LAZY MOTHER IS GETTING THE MONEY STRAIGHT INTO HER ACCOUNT, AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THE PAYMENT DOES NOT EFFECT HER BENEFITS

IT THERE ANYONE THAT CAN OFFER ME ANY HELP AS I AM STRUGGLING TO COPE WITH THIS.
THE BEST OF ALL IS SHE IS CLAIMING BENEFITS AND THE MONEY I PAY DOES NOT EFFECT HER BENEFITS SO SHE IS LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK AND I AM STRUGGLING GO PAY MY MORTGAGE.

I would go to see your MP about this - there isn't much you can do regarding payemts going forwards, but I wonder whether you were obliged to pay when she wasn't claiming child benefit, so you might be able to appeal about that part at least.
