My CMS letter is dated 11th July but in the letter it says 16th July is my initial effective date..

there is also a 14 day deadline to contact CMS. Would that be from the 11th or 16th?

Couple of other questions: sorry, this CMS is crazy complicated:

Can they ask for backdated payment or is that through a court order?

X said she did not want anything from me but surprise, 3 years on, there is the CMS letter; so can she ask for backdated payment for 3 years?

if so, I can make more money but that will be over 25% threshold and then I get penalised for earning more to pay of arrears I didn’t have till now

hi, no CMS will not do back-dated payments. your payments are effective 16 july, so ignore what has happened before that date. you should contact CMS asap, if they don't hear from you within the 14 day limit, they will assume you are ignoring them and don't want to pay. then they can take enforcement action and cause lot of problems for you.

generally the more you earn, the more you will pay. if your income increases or drops by 25% or more, they expect you to let them know asap.
