Hi

I inherited a house which I sold to buy the one I currently live in as I’ve always rented before. My ex had found out 5 1/2 years later. Would she be able to claim against me for variance after all this time? I have been pay maintenance for many years before this.

I'm not a specialist in this but I think if you inherited the house after the separation then she doesn't have a claim on it.  If you were married then you may have had a 'clean break' financial order so the same would apply

hi,

I think it's very unlikely that CMS would take any action after all these years. If you only have 1 property and you live in it, this is not taken into account by CMS.

- To disregard the primary residence of the NRP, or any child of the NRP. This is
to ensure that there is no risk of the NRP and dependents losing their home where
it is necessary to sell the property in order to pay any additional maintenance
which would become payable as a result of taking the property into account.
