Hi ALL,

Problem with Income in terms of CMS.

I have Limited Company. Between April 2021-22 I had 50.000 £ Income. Then from April 2022-2023 - 85.000£. Child MS letter received on November 2022. I am planing to close Limited Company and work as a Physio within NHS starting from [15 January 2023] for around 27.000 £ a year. At the moment I payed 500£ a month CMS starting from first payment on 01 January 2023 based on HMRC Evidence of Income between 2021-22.

Lets say I will receive Contract in PDF from NHS for those 27.000 £ a Year, does my Child MS will increase ? If I have 85.000£ Income until April 2023 from my Limited Company + Income from NHS ?

So obviously I receive Income from My Limited Company as a Director + Income from NHS at the moment.

What I can do to LET / PROVE Child MS that my Income is coming only from NHS for 27.000£ [Will be reduced from 85.000 to 27.000] ? [Close Limited Company and STOP receive Income from Limited Company] ?

Regards.

In my case, I got my accountant to write a 'to whom it may concern' letter advising that my Limited company was now dormant(I did not close it) and that no further income will be received in future from this company.

CMS accepted this and worked with just the new income.

That said, I continue to be on the end of decisions from CMS (good & bad) that do not make sense or show consistency, so who knows!

Probably best to call them and ask.

Hi,

You would need to tell CMS about these changes. Can either make company dormant, get accountant letter as proof also and send evidence to CMS. Or you can close it down and let CMS know, give clear dates on when company stopped trading. and tell them about new job. Keep them informed, otherwise if you leave company open, they will likely tell you that your getting 2 incomes and will increase your maintenance by massive amounts.
