hello, I have two children from two separate mothers, was paying both in a agreed amount, mother B went to CMS demanding she wanted more, spoke to CMS and showed how much I was paying ( it was over the calculated amount I was required ). I told them I had a son aswell to add into the calculations and they asked for proof, I provided payments and details to speak to mother A, which they did and she confirmed I pay her and I’m the father etc. 4 months later they send me a email at 22:17 saying they’ve rejected that I have a son based on no evidence, I did not see this email due to how late at night it was sent, I woke up a few days ago to multiple emails from them saying I owe them and mother B £2495 with £200 weekly payments, I called and said I do not because I pay for my son too and they said they can not go back and backdate but could add my son to it all now for the future and told me they would call back and not heard anything since, what can I do? Do I have a leg to stand on to get the £2495 squashed and they are refusing to put my son onto the calculations, it’s resulted in mother A to be calling them when she can. Any advice is welcome, I’m not sleeping and the stress is overwhelming me.
thank you
Hi,
Are you or partner claiming child benefit for son that lives with you? If so send a child benefit letter to CMS. Can scan and upload it to them in online account.
I would recommend this group for paying parents. very useful:
