I have been seperated from the mother of my little princess now for 2 years. For the first year i paid £60 a week with out fail. 2nd year £40 pound a week. All cash in the hand. And i believe this has not been declared when she made her claim for support. Currently in the proccess of starting mediation and she wants to contact csa to get more money out of me which i simply cant afford! Can i find out if she is claiming to much. 2 can play that game and all that.

Hello A1treeman

Anyone that is in receipt of child maintenance and is receiving benefits, would need to inform the Jobcentre PLUS (JCP) of the maintenance that they are receiving. However, generally this will not affect any benefits that they are entitled to. They would need to contact the JCP directly if they have any queries regarding this.

For more information on all the different ways to set up child maintenance and for a more personalised service, you can visit the Child Maintenance Options website at http://www.cmoptions.org.

The DWP have a sorting out separation website that you may find useful. It offers help and support to separating and separated families. The link is: https://www.sortingoutseparation.org.uk/.

Regards

William

Have you used the CMS (CSA) calculator to get an idea of what you might be expected to pay if she opens up a claim through them? Here's a link

All the best
